Wintery Autumn...

We have had a beautiful autumn here in Ontario Canada. The weather has been sunny and warm...that is until this week.  We awoke to a dusting of snow on the cars.  Today we looked outside and it was like we were in the inside of a snow globe.   The colours are beautiful this time of year.

We celebrated my Mum's birthday this month as well.   She loves butterflies so we had a cupcake garnished with a butterfly.  Along with a lovely butterfly locket.

For my fellow crocheters...this doilie in the background was made by my Nana years ago

Granny Stripe...

My latest creation...a granny stripe afghan which is still under construction.  I am making it for my daughter who is at uni in the UK.

The inspiration to make this comes from Lucy on her blog Attic24
Lucy is very inspiring to me in her crochet technique.  The colourful pieces are alot of fun!

Fun with colours

Will be nice and thick and warm

Thanksgiving and Oktoberfest

Here in Canada we have Thanksgiving in October. We had a lovely meal at the Salvation Army in a little Ontario town. My in laws are Salvation Army officers and hosted 24 family members for turkey fare. So they decided why not have it in the church basement.

Table set for all

Posters around the room

Also this month we had some Oktoberfest celebrations
With homemade pretzels, mustard and rootBEER haha

I am excited to make something out of this Simply Crochet issue. Can't wait.
In the meantime, my neighbour had a sweet baby girl this past weekend. She is lovely and what better way than to welcome her into the world than with this creation I made....

A nice sunset drive home in October..

What better way to start the day than with a cup of java and an issue of  Simply Crochet courtesy of a friend in the UK.
